In short
We are adding all of Europe to rcunited.de one country at a time. So far we cover 31 countries with 161 RC tracks, 234 model airfields and 82 waters for model boats between them. As in Germany, every entry is checked individually, almost always on the club’s own website. One EU regulation covers drones and model aircraft in every EU country, but registration, insurance and club rules differ from country to country.
Which countries are covered?
Each country page brings together RC tracks, model airfields and boat waters with a profile, guest rules and a link to the club’s website, plus the country’s key rules with sources.

What applies across the EU to model aircraft and drones?
Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/947 applies in all EU countries. Three points matter when you travel with a model:
- Registration: you register as an operator in the member state where you live (Art. 14(6)).
- Clubs: on request, the competent authority can grant model aircraft clubs and associations an authorisation; their rules then apply (Art. 16).
- Height: in the open category you keep your model within 120 m of the closest point of the earth’s surface (Art. 4(1)(e)).
Switzerland is not an EU member but has applied the EU drone rules since 1 January 2023; model flying in clubs follows its own simplified rules there (OSCA). The United Kingdom is not an EU member either and has its own rules: the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) does not recognise registrations or proofs of competency from EU countries. Serbia is not an EU member either: its own drone rules apply there until the end of February 2027, and as a visitor you need approval from the civil aviation authority for every drone flight; proofs of competency from the EU are not recognised.
Anything a country requires on top, such as compulsory insurance, is on its country page.
How do we check the entries?
Every entry is checked individually on the club’s or operator’s own website. We only list clubs with documented activity in 2025 or 2026. We do not copy from directories, and anything a club does not publish is left out. Exception: where hardly any club keeps a website of its own with dates, an event in the national federation's calendar or results also counts as evidence, and the profile says so explicitly. So far this applies to: Bulgaria, Estonia, Greece, Latvia and Romania.
Missing a country or club?
Is your club missing or are details out of date? Write to us via the contact page (in German). We check the tip on the club’s website and update the list.
Frequently asked questions
Is my drone registration valid when I fly in another country?
Under the EU regulation you register in the country where you live (Art. 14(6) of Regulation (EU) 2019/947); according to FOCA this also applies when you fly in Switzerland. Anything a host country requires on top is on its country page; Austria, for example, accepts proofs of competency from other EU countries.
Can I drive as a guest at an RC track abroad?
At many clubs yes, usually with a day ticket and after contacting the club. Each club’s rules are in its profile on the country page.
In which languages are the country pages available?
In German, in English and in the local language – for Switzerland also in French and Italian. Use the language menu at the top right to switch.
